This statement has been published in accordance with the modern slavery act 2015. We do not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking in our organisation or in our supply chain. This statement sets out the steps taken by Premium Linguistic Services to eliminate the risk of modern slavery in it business and supply chains during the year ending 31st March 2019.
Premium Linguistic Services does not fall within the score of section 54(2) of the Modern Slavery Act in terms of its turnaround. However, we do fall within the scope of section 54(2) in our commitments in securing transparency and our supply chains.
Premium Linguistic Services is a national language service provider working with more than 10,000 linguists, delivering face to face and Telephone interpreting and any forms of written translations services to public and private sector clients. Premium Linguistic Services supply chain primarily consists of linguists, staff and other providers.
Premium Linguistic Services internal policies include our Human Rights policy and our Code of Ethics. We confirm that we will not tolerate and condone abuse of human rights within any part of our business or supply chains. We will take seriously any allegations that human rights are not properly respected. Our team members are expected to report concerns, using the appropriate reporting channels, and management are expected to act upon them as we operate a Whistleblowing Policy.
Suppliers are subject to due diligence checks in the form of ethical/compliance audits conducted by Premium Linguistic Services. Such audits are also regularly conducted for existing suppliers. Premium Linguistic Services will not deal or support any business involved in slavery or human trafficking.
Premium Linguistic Services will have no new suppliers appointed without going through our due diligence so that we can Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains. Mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, which we manage through our supplier process and our contracts which will, going forward, give us the ability to monitor our supply chains and potential risk areas.
All our employees have been provided with training to understand more about this growing issue and how to report any suspicions they may have, whether in a business or personal context. These trainings would enable our employees to recognise different types of slavery, how to spot the signs and provides details of a telephone helpline.
Premium Linguistic Services understand that the modern slavery and human trafficking is a rising issue and the risk is not static and will continue in the coming years. We anticipate developing better ways of measuring the effectiveness of the steps we take to mitigate these risks.
